A man's touch
Rough, tough, calloused hands
Some might call them 'working hands'
time left on the microwave, blinking, mocking you
eggy countertops, eggy floors
grease on the floor from some unknown source of meat
LOUD, slamming cupboards, cabinets, doors, shouting, yelling
full dishwasher, yet half washed dishes
only MEAT and EGGS, cause only protein is important
"I didn't know you were sleeping" when I've been on the same schedule for 2.5 years
lights left on, at all hours of the day
crumbs on the ground, never swept up
cabinets left open
A man's touch is clumsy and in the way
Cold, way colder than you wish you ever had to be.
Cold that forces you to be wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts in the summer.
Protein powder in a coke pile on the counters
greasy microwave, that has been manhandled with unwashed hands
gunk on the paper towels
Promise of change for two weeks, before reverting back to your old ways.
A man's touch is not locking the front door, cause they never think about it.
Not having to think about it, not be worried about the implications, things that could happen.
Forgotten or missed plans
running their life around what only they want to do, whether or not it affects anyone else
Arrogance
Arguing about whether they are right or not, even if you know otherwise.
Disregarding others feelings
A man's touch leads to ants, cause food was left out.
Loud phone calls
Open back doors, and no concern of our cat's safety
A man's touch is too important in this world, but not for me.
I could go my whole life without another man's touch and it still wouldn't be long enough.
But a woman's touch.....
that's another story.
